I. Introduction
Virtual reality (VR) contents such as 360-degree video can provide realistic and immersive viewing experience for viewers. While conventional 2D rectangle image has a limited field of view (FOV) at a fixed viewpoint, the 360-degree video provides unlimited FOV in all directions [1], [2]. Viewers can see wherever they want to see by selecting the specific portion of spherical images (called as viewport) with VR displays such as a head-mounted display (HMD). The development of the 360-degree cameras and VR displays has increased the interest and popularity of the VR content (e.g., 360-degree video).
