SAML Authentication
SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is an XML-based, open-standard data format that allows for single-sign on authentication. SAML authentication provides licensed users with convenient and secure access to institution's IEEE Xplore subscription.

- The password is the same one used for accessing your organization's internal systems
- Great addition to other authentication methods, providing options to users
- Provides IEEE Xplore subscription access to offsite users and those using mobile devices
- Customizable, real-time usage reports
- Optional Just in Time Provisioning (JIT) integrates personal accounts with institutional access
Setting Up SAML
Fill out and submit the SAML registration form to initiate SAML setup. We will share more detailed instruction with the technical contact you designate:

Security Certificate and Metadata
IEEE has published a new security certificate and metadata which can be downloaded here.
- Download the new certificate (only required if running on ADFS SSO application)
- Download the new metadata (required if running on ADFS, OKTA, AZure AD, and others)
Note: Download both files if your application is ADFS.
