Abstract:
Non-contact vital signs monitoring has recently attracted the interest of several research sectors such as medicine, signal processing, agriculture, etc. Several radar sensors with unique features have been put forward. Various algorithms have also been developed. In this paper, an algorithm that deploys filtering, compressed sensing (CS), and wavelet decomposition is proposed. For validation, a publicly available dataset that was recorded using a frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar was used. The results of the algorithm are then compared to a dataset recorded by a clinically approved vital sign monitoring sensor that was synchronized with the FMCW radar sensor during data acquisition.
