A High Performance JPEG Decoding Algorithm based on OPENCL

It is the solution of paralleled image decoding algorithm to address the issues of the decoding slowness and long latency for large size images in various applications. Base on JPEG decoding with high compression ratio, which widely used in various applications, this paper proposed the implementation of parallelized JPEG image decoding algorithm by using the OPENCL library. Obviously, the test results against large size images with the new algorithm demonstrated 4-5 times higher JPEG decoding performance than original decoding algorithm.
