Abstract:

We investigate diagnosability of health monitoring systems in smart homes. We model a health monitoring system as a discrete event system. We build the automaton model of the system in a modular way by first building component models and then using parallel composition. We apply diagnosability theory of discrete event systems to diagnose failures in the system. We check diagnosability of the system under various assumptions on the observability of the events. We also build diagnoser that diagnoses failures whenever possible.
