Chapter Abstract:

This chapter details Ten Networking Commandments. And so it came to pass that these Ten Networking Commandments were handed down from generation to generation, to be worn as frontlets between the computer geeks' eyes and written upon their doorposts with Sharpie markers. All the security protection in the world won't stop users from clicking bad links or opening infected files. In addition to firewalls and security software, it's vital that network administrators train their users in the ways of cybersecurity. Their users are the final and best line of defense against cyberthreats. Network envy is a common malady among network managers. There's no reason that the network should be down for two days just because a cable breaks. Always make sure that network administrators have at least a minimal supply of network spare parts on hand.
