Energy-Consuming Right Trading: Architectures, Practices and Challenges

Facing the increasing burden of the environmental deterioration, demand growth and the shortage of energy resources, China puts forward the energy-consuming right trading systems (ECRTs), for saving energy by controlling the total energy consumption. In order to deeply study the mechanism of ECRT, this paper firstly investigates the current status and related mechanisms of ECRT, analyzes the benefits of ECRT, and puts forward the problems and challenges that the merge of the ECRT and carbon emission right trading (CERT) may face. Further suggestions and strategies are illustrated for different participating entities.
