Abstract:
There is significant cloud adoption in recent time. The data centers are increasingly disaggregated. The Capacity requirements are also growing with Internet of Things and upcoming 5G planned by operators. Over the Top Players (OTT) traffic is increasing. Above factors need more capacity and faster capacity addition to network infrastructure. Only way to meet this demand is use of technology Dense wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM). In this paper new models for connectivity which are gaining traction optical disaggregation is compared with currently deployed models. Optical Disaggregation is consisting of the separation of hardware and software. This paper explores the Optical Disaggregation Architectures and then investigates Optical Disaggregation key points to be considered for deployment using detailed Techno-Commercial analysis. For Technical analysis Multivendor Simulation is done using Open Simulation Software GNPy. The study compares two optical disaggregation options (partial vs Full). It summarizes application of the Optical disaggregation architecture from Network position perspective.
