A Study of MOOCs Project (MODE IT), Techniques, and Know How-Do How Best Practices and Lessons from the Pandemic through the Tomorrow Age Theory

MODE IT, Curricular modernization by implementing MOOCs model is a new Erasmus Plus project which use the MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) model which will define as: as: 1-) online courses designed for large numbers of participants, 2-) accessible by anyone, anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection, 3-) open to everyone without entry qualifications, 4-) offering a full/complete course experience online for free. There are some reasons to show the importance of MOOCs project because of the situation at the labour market: (1-)Job profiles are merging, (2-)Knowledge and innovations are exponentially growing. (3-)Hence, requirements to the employees are being complex, too, so that they must constantly improve their qualification (lifelong learning), (4-)Solution is however present: a plenty of open online learning provisions are available (such as MOOCs and its variations) but only about 3-5% of registered learners successfully complete them. The situation at many Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs): 1-Compulsory attendance of classes does not stimulate self-organized learning, 2-Blended learning - still very teacher-cantered, 3-Missing skills of educators and supporting structures to design and deliver effective student-cantered learning scenarios, 4-Thus, needs for new and innovative pedagogical approaches at HEIs that promote self-organized, student-cantered learning. MODE IT responds to these needs through integrating MOOCs-based instructional approaches into HEI practices. The objectives of the MOOCs are as: 1)To raise awareness of HEI students for and improve their learning experiences through MOOCs-based approaches, 2)To develop and integrate innovative MOOCs-based instructional approaches into HEI's curriculum design & delivery, 3)To boost HEI educators' awareness and skills for MOOCs-based curriculum design and delivery techniques to achieve online self-assessment tool, online training program for educators and redesigned MOOCs-based HEI curricula. The goal of MODE IT is to introduce innovative MOOC-based pedagogical approaches to the design and delivery of higher education courses. The MODE IT online self-assessment tool allows teaching staff at higher education institutions to check their competence level in the design and development of MOOCs, and to get immediate feedback for possible improvements. The self-assessment tool not only provides real-time feedback on your individual competences related to the design and development of MOOCs. It also offers concrete suggestions for competence improvement in a specific domain! Moreover, you will get the opportunity to increase your competence level by enrolling in the corresponding online training program that will be developed by MODE IT team. Depending on the identified proficiency level, you might be suggested to complete either the entire training or only specific module(s). In this paper we study a MOOCs Project which called MODE IT, to learn the techniques, and Know How-Do How best practices and lessons from the pandemic through the 5^thwave/tomorrow age theory which is about readiness for the educational future concerns.
