Abstract:

The autonomous operation of mobile service robots is provided by a portable electric energy source, usually a rechargeable battery pack. This article presents complete power management solutions for small service robots based on a lithium-ion battery pack. It consists of two main parts: a battery management system (BMS) and an intelligent charging module with USB-C power delivery input. This architecture allows the safe and reliable operation of the battery under various working conditions. All battery data is available to the main computer via the System Management Bus (SMBus) interface.
