Abstract:

A low infrared and optically transparent mobile phone signal jammer based on metamaterial for Sub-6 GHz frequency band of 5G was proposed in this work. It is a multilayer structure which consisting of a low-infrared emission layer of a periodic indium tin oxide (ITO) patch array attached to an optically transparent polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, two polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compensation layers and a microwave absorption layer of patterned ITO etched on the PET. The shielding effectiveness (SE) of the proposed signal jammer reaches above 28dB from 3.3 to 5 GHz. It also holds great performance in wide angle, conformal and optically transparent for signal shielding of Sub-6 frequency band of 5G.
