Abstract:
Now-a-days, huge power transmission is the major significance due to growing population, load demand, introducing several industries. But the, length between the power generation units and load centers are tedious to attain high power transfer capacity. To maximize the power transfer capacity of electric power transmission system, a multi-phase power transmission corridor has been introduced among the 3-phase single-circuit transmission system. The multi-phase transmission network enables the transferring huge power over a certain distances and attains useful merits such as flexible power-flow, low expenditure cost, reduced line losses, high efficiency, low right of way, ecological/aesthetic nature. In this work, a 6-phase single-circuit transmission network has been proposed for maximizing the rate of power transfer capacity with the help of multi-winding phase-convertible transformer configuration. The performance of 6-phase single-circuit transmission system is validated by using Matlab/Simulink models and simulated results are illustrated.
