Use Case Example

The suitability of 5G networks for deployment at the infrastructure edge is especially important as by these networks being present at distributed infrastructure edge data centres, the infrastructure edge computing network will carry significant amounts of the total user data for these 5G networks while providing data centre resources which can be positioned locally enough to enable the lowest latency between a user and their application workload, supporting new key low latency use cases.In this chapter we will explore some of the ways in which infrastructure edge computing can support the deployment and operation of the 5G RAN and core network at either a regional or national scale.
