Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze the uplink of 5G Standalone under the scenarios of signal degradation due to the propagation loss. The analysis is performed experimentally through laboratory tests, in which different modulation, e.g., QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM and 256QAM are exploited. In addition to attesting the sensitivity of high-order modulations to the pathloss effects, the results of this paper allow estimation of the 5G uplink range for each type of modulation. Finally, the results also show that the difference in using QPSK and 256QAM, in terms of signal range, may reach 300 meters.
