Abstract:

Tik Tok app was a product of the mobile Internet era, which had similarities and differences with typical SNS. College students’ perception and acceptance of Tik Tok had certain sensitivity, and their use will also have an impact on college students’ life. In this paper, Tik Tok was connected with social capital and college students’ adaptation, so as to broaden the research scope of media social capital, understand the specific use of the mobile short videos by college students and the adaptability of the media environment, and then discuss the influence of social apps of short videos on college students’ social capital. The results showed that in the dimension of "use intensity", the variables that were significantly positively correlated with bridging social capital were "dependence" and "number of updated original works", while "degree of dependence" was very effective in predicting bonded social capital. In the dimension of "use motivation", the variables "information acquisition motivation", "interpersonal communication motivation" and "self-presentation motivation" were both significantly positively correlated with bridging and bonded social capital.
