Abstract:

A new arch sandwiched shape three-phase dual-translators middle dual stator flux switching generator for vortex bladeless wind turbines is presented. Both field and armature windings are housed on the two sides of the stator member in such a way that not only fulfills brushless structure, but also realizes the flux switching function. Both windings have concentrated shape non-overlapping windings to shorten the end-windings and reduce the copper losses. The two translators are made from magnetic iron and have salient pole structure without any windings or permanent magnet. In this paper, a detailed design is provided, and its performance is analyzed using finite element method. A study about the optimum shape is given along with the distribution of both two types of windings at the two stator ends. Theoretical analysis is carried out and the optimum design shape and dimensions are given. Results are obtained and discussed to perform the suitable shape for vortex bladeless wind turbine generator.
