Abstract:
Tunable metamaterials have been attaining prodigious attention because of their widespread applications in optical communication due to their post fabrication control through active tunning. In this research, a tunable terahertz (THz) perfect meta-absorber is reported which is comprised of a graphene-based simple split square resonator. The designed meta-absorber indicates an almost unity absorption value at the operating frequency of 4.5 THz. Further, this absorber maintains its high absorption features under the effect of oblique incidence angles up to 50°. The proposed absorbing device also has an additional feature of tunability, which can be reconfigured by varying graphene’s chemical potential. This kind of narrow-band absorber could be an effective contender for filtering and sensing applications.
