Abstract:
We compare the performance of different optical code schemes that are used in optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) systems. This is realized by considering a bidirectional OCDMA system of single passive optical network (SPON) and multiple passive optical network (MPON). Our results show Multi-Diagonal (MD) has less performance in comparison with other codes such as Zero Cross Correlation (ZCC), Modified Quadratic Congruence (MQC) and Modified Prime (MP) code. While MD has zero cross-correlation regardless of increasing the number of users at any given weight values, the long code would increase the cost due to using more wavelengths. MD shows an explicit disadvantage compared to other codes, however, it is quite easy to construct because of using a diagonal matrix in different directions.
