Abstract:

Construction companies are in constant growth, which generates an increase in the number of projects to be executed simultaneously, causing several problems in their management. One of the most frequent problems is the inefficient scheduling of activities, which causes delays and economic losses for the companies. Efforts to minimize these effects are focused on optimizing only the performance of human resources and do not take into account the performance of construction equipment according to their restrictions. Likewise, the incorrect assignment and control of this resource produces stand by times, affecting the programmed progress of the items. This research aims to optimize the use of construction equipment in the same company, reducing downtime through proper scheduling and detailed control of the activities involved. To achieve the purpose of this study it is necessary to develop a digital tool. The use of the proposed software together with the new workflow reduces the stand-by time of the equipment, thus improving its productivity, which finally results in an economic benefit. The implementation is carried out in construction companies that have been executing building projects having as a result the optimization of the equipment in the execution of the activities which leads to the decrease of the monetary losses of the construction company.
