Abstract:
A novel implantable antenna is designed in this paper, which works at the industrial, scientific, and medical bands. The proposed antenna is constructed in three layers and uses flexible polyimide as both a dielectric substrate and a cover layer. To simulate the antenna worked in a real work scene, a single skin model and the three-layer human tissue model have been set up. Results show us the antenna with good properties. The impedance bandwidth of 2.30-2.58 GHz is achieved when |S11|<-10 dB; and the safety standard of specific absorption rate value is satisfied according to the IEEE C95.1.2005 guideline. Because small size and flexibility, the proposed antenna is suitable for miniaturized implantable medical devices such as wireless capsule endoscope systems.
