Abstract:

NAS or Networked-attached storage is one of the latest storage technologies available in current market. With increasing number of personal gadgets in homes like laptops, tablets and mobile phones there is an increased need for storage solutions. Nowadays, people buy gadgets with higher capacity. For example, many premium smartphone brands had their premium models with 16GB of storage as a starting capacity of storage for mobile devices. Now hardly we see phone makers providing 16GB storage. Almost all phone makers have their premium or flagship models, which start with a 64GB variant. Hence, people still buy phones larger than 64GB, which clearly shows us that the demand for personal storage has increased in a couple of years. This is because with technological advancements, there has been the need for increased storage especially in a smartphone because with sophisticated cameras with higher megapixels capturing pictures and videos in full resolution and top quality results in images and videos with higher storage consumption. In this paper, we would be explaining about a solution with the help of Raspberry-Pi device, which can be helpful in affordable way for individual use or for Small Medium Businesses (SMB's) to make use of this feature so that they can save cost that been spent on the cloud providers for cloud storage purposes.
