Abstract:

Transmitter (Tx) unit is an important sub system of transceiver system for transferring data. A transmitter can only send information. The X-Band Tx chain is designed and simulated for radar application. Lumped element low pass filter (LPF) and interdigital band pass filter (IDBPF) is designed and simulated for IF path of Tx chain. Microstrip LPF and coupled line BPF is designed and simulated for LO and RF path of Tx chain. CMA-62+(monolithic amplifier), HMC8402(low noise amplifier), HMC441LC3B(medium power amplifier),HMC516LC5(low noise amplifier, HMC7149(power amplifier) are used to increase the gain and power level of the Tx. HFCN −8400+ high pass filter (HPF) is used in RF path to remove the unwanted signal. Advanced Design System (ADS) software tool is used for simulation. Each components are integrated to form a Tx which gives output power of 40dBm.
