Abstract:

A compact, low-profile two-port Multiband MIMO resonates at 2.8 GHz and 5.8GHz frequencies is presented in this paper. The antenna is designed on 12×20×1.57489mm3 dimensions on FR4 epoxy substrate. A-10dB impedance bandwidth of 51.8% (2.0-3.4GHz) and 34.4% (5.0-7.0 GHz) is achieved. High isolation of −17.5dB in the lower band and −22.5dB in the higher band is attained due to parasitic strip, DGS and 180° orientation of the antenna. A lower resonating frequency is achieved with a minimal antenna size as a result of incorporating the meander line in the radiating element. A metallic via connects the circular patch underneath the radiating element causes the higher frequency band. The peak gain of 7.5dB and 3.5dB is obtained in the lower band and higher band. The proposed antenna acquires the ECC(< 0.06), VSWR (< 2), DG(≈ 10), TARC (< θ dB) and stable radiation pattern. This contender is best suited to wireless devices seeking Bluetooth, WLAN, WiMax in a single device.
