I. Introduction
Nowadays, manufacturing companies are trying to make their production systems increasingly efficient, flexible and robust to cope with demanding customers and a growing fierce competition. All these increasing difficulties call for an evolution of quality control methods and systems capable to effectively deal with this complexity [2]. This ongoing evolution unavoidably passes through the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions, characterized by the use of technologies such as Digital Platforms, Big Data, Autonomous Robots, Systems Integration, and Augmented Reality [3].
