Abstract:

The set of six scalar Maxwell's time domain equations are consolidated in this work into two 3X3 decoupled complex sets (5) . Each one of the two sets describes one (of two) newly defined vector fields, denoted E L and E R , respectively. Only one of these fields is needed for the solution of an entire electromagnetic problem, at the cost of being complex rather than real time domain quantity.
