Blockchain Applications in Computer Communication

Blockchain technology was first introduced more than a decade ago, as a crypto coin alternative for the financial sector, in the form of Bitcoin. Since its introduction, the research community has identified the potential of blockchain, not only for the financial sector, but for many other areas, such as industry, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, healthcare, and so on. Blockchain technology has gained its place in computer communication, too, especially in the Internet-Of-Things (IoT) domain. In this paper, we present the main characteristics of blockchain technology and find the places in computer communications where it can fit.
