Abstract:
The introduction of the Static Transformer rendered an easy and simple method of producing high voltages, and with the advent of these comparatively high voltages the question of the Electric Transmission of Power received more attention than hitherto, until ultimately it was recognised that power could be transmitted long distances quite economically provided that the voltage was made sufficiently high. That is to say, it was soon recognised that the greatest economy could be effected by the use of high tension currents.
