Abstract:

Space Vector Modulation (SVM) is the name of a particular method of Pulse — Width — Modulation (PWM) for an inverter. This paper briefly explains the SVM algorithm and then describes its implementation using EPROMS to a transistorized three — phase inverter. Results are presented to illustrate the effects of gear ratio on the harmonic content of the inverter output current and these are compared with results predicted from off — line computer simulations.
