Abstract:
In this study, sensitivity analysis of PCF based SPR biosensor has been investigated by employing the Full vectorial Finite Element Method (FVFEM) with Perfectly Matched Layers (PMLs). The spectral and amplitude interrogation methods are chosen to analyse single analyte channel structure with 19 air holes in the cladding region. Various blood components ( Hemoglobin, Ethanol, Blood Plasma, Cypton and Water) with refractive index range 1.33-1.38 are used as a sample. Our numerical results have shown that our proposed sensor can reach higher sensitivity levels on both polarization directions. Highest sensitivity values for both polarized modes are reported between 1.36 -1.38 refractive index values.
