Abstract:
This paper describes the advantages of using a Gabor transform to represent the signals seen by Radar Electronic Support Measure (RESM) receivers. It shows how a compact, invertible Gabor Transform can be created. It further shows how the RESM data can be sub-sampled and then reconstructed via an undersampled Gabor Transform, effecting a substantial compression of the data rate. A subsampling factor of better than 7.5, with practically perfect reconstruction, is demonstrated with a real recorded radar pulse.
