Abstract:

In this paper, a systematic design approach of an S-Band solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) is presented. This amplifier will be used in a spaceborne telemetry transmitter of a low-earth orbit satellite. The S-Band SSPA is a 3-stage cascaded amplifier block and the last stage of the SSPA is a GaAs field-effect transistor based amplifier circuit with 38 dBm of l dB compression point and 43% power-added efficiency.
