Abstract:
The impact of buildings assessment has run a global trend in the building industry to significantly promote the development of the green building concept. The main objective of the current work is to achieve sustainable development by application of green rating assessment tool. A five-story residential building was selected as a case study and Comprehensive Assessment System for Building Environmental Efficiency (CASBEE) rating tool adopted for assessment. The selected rating tool investigated the sustainability level using primary and secondary data of the case study. The study highlighted an achieved rating level is 1.02 out of 3.00 which equals 34% when converted to point system, with "GOOD" level of certification, three stars ratings and B+ grade. This study can explored the adaptation of rating assessment tools in the building sector for investigating the design attributes that pose barriers to obtain rating assessment upto an acceptable sustainable level.
