Abstract:

In this article, a high output quadrature-phase VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) is proposed, with a duty-cycle corrector circuit to improve phase noise. The proposed circuit of VCO with noise reduction circuit is implemented by TSMC 0.35 μm CMOS process for communication applications. Experiments show that the VCO is tunable from 705 MHz to 927 MHz, the phase noise produces -106.7dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from 779.22 MHz carrier, the consumption of 17.6 mW at the sourcing voltage of 3.3 V. Including pads, the chip dimension is 0.392 × 0.392 mm2.
