Abstract:
This work presents a Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) based on a fractal geometry for radar systems applications. The third iteration of Sierpinski curve is used to design the FSS. The Sierpinski curve has a space-filling propriety to miniaturize the FSS. The device presents a dualpolarized behavior and two stop-band response at 1.82 GHz and 4.79 GHz, which are suitable for interference protection applications. The L and C bands signals are filtered avoiding eventual adjacent interference to S band frequency. Additionally, an investigation is performed for different polarized wave incidence. The simulation frequency responses are performed using ANSYS HFSS software. The simulation and measurement results are shown and compared for validation purposes.
