Abstract:
In this paper, a versatile Remote Fitness Monitoring system is implemented with state-of-the-art communication technologies that allow for fitness monitoring to be carried out in different dimensions. The system provides for self-monitoring using a smart wearable Armband linked via Bluetooth (Serial Port Protocol) to mobile software that can present comprehensively analysed data graphically to the user. The system also supports inter-user monitoring and provides a model for central multi-user monitoring by communicating data between Application Programming Interfaces. This model can be beneficial to fitness trainers and can be easily adopted in implementing Remote outpatient monitoring systems for clinicians. The system also incorporates a social-distancing ultrasonic warning sensor that is controllable from the mobile software to assist users who wants to observe social-distancing. It also includes an algorithm for visualisation of nearest health centres within 5 km radius for a user who needs to visit a health centre.
