Abstract:

This works introduces a novel Artificial Neural Network (ANN) controller applied to Single Sided Linear induction motor (SSLIM). The controller can operate without sensors. Training of ANN controller is done in offline mode by extracting Data from Direct Thrust Control (DTC) scheme applied to SSLIM. The shortcomings of DTC mainly lie in current ripples, by virtue of this ANN controller these ripples have been suppressed. To validate the concept the modelling of SSLIM and ANN controller is done in MTALAB®/Simulink environment. Results depicted shows a superior speed tracking obtained via ANN controller.
