Abstract:

In this paper, a Pentagonal Sierpinski fractal antenna for wearable application is designed. The proposed antenna is designed to operate at S-band with frequency range of 2.07 - 2.69 GH with the bandwidth of 650 MHz. The microstrip patch antenna uses FR-4 as the substrate which has dielectric constant εr = 4.4 and tangent loss of 0.02. The radiation characteristics such as return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern, gain and SAR value are simulated and presented using CST Suite Studio 2018. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value of the proposed antenna is 0.455 W/Kg which is found to be very less than the standard rate of 1.6 W/Kg. The peak simulated return loss of the designed antenna is -38 dB. The proposed antenna can be used for soldier location tracking.
