Abstract:

The paper proposes a system of data transmission according to VLC technology using new physical encoding. The authors implemented the transfer of symbol data from one personal computer to another using a white lighting LED. The STM32 microcontroller and LED control driver were used for data transmission. Instead of the standard physical encoding approach, where one cycle corresponds to the value of 0 and one cycle corresponds to the value of 1 corresponding to the maximum power of the LED, a new encoding was implemented. This approach determines 0 in binary encoding in two cycles at zero voltage, and at the voltage that provides the maximum power of the LED, identifies 1 in binary notation in two cycles. Although the data transfer rate is reduced, the reliability of using two bits both for 1 and 0 is increased.
