Abstract:
Universities and technical colleges around the world experience difficulties when training people to deal and understand concepts and operating procedures with expensive machinery, including multi-DOF robotic arms. Robotic arms are used all around the world in many production and assembly industries so it is vital to understand how they work. In this paper the design of a small and cost effective solution for end user in order to get hands-on experience with multi-DOF robots. This work utilizes MATLAB/Simulink and LABVIEW in order to provide end user with GUI based learning environment. Moreover, algorithms like Forward Kinematics and Inverses kinematics are used in order to compare calculated and real time position of the arm so that the end user can have a better understanding of these concepts.
