Abstract:
This paper presents the performance of Virtual Private Network (VPN) Load Balancing on Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol with and without load balancing techniques. The topology was first simulated using network Cisco Packet Tracer simulator. Load Balancing is a networking method for distributing workload across multiple computer which it can be sent equally among the route exist. OSPF topologies were analysed using three different scenarios including VPN network. Network testing such as ping command has been used to measure RTT value of three different cases. Differences of tests on the network performance are analysed such as such throughput, jitter, packet loss, latency and speed. The same topology was tested using real devices. Network applications using file transfer protocol that uses TCP and UDP protocol over video streaming were experimented and analysed. Results obtained from both simulated and test-bed network indicates that OSPF with load balancing has a better performance which divides routes equally among two route path and gave optimum performance in network. This research is significant to forecast of network design and management to find best performance of Virtual Private Network (VPN).
