Abstract:

The work focuses on the mathematical modeling of the optical spectrum of the addressed fiber Bragg structure. The usage of addressed fiber Bragg structures (AFBS) allows to eliminate the disadvantages of the strain sensors based on traditional fiber Bragg grating, such as high costs of the optical interrogators required for their probing. This enables the application of AFBS-based strain sensors for the strain measurement of the outer ring of the automotive load sensing bearings. The modelling approach uses Lorentz function to describe the spectrum of the transparency window of the addressed structure with two symmetrical π-phase shifts. The approach allowed to define the influence of the width of transparency window on the amplitude and the full width at half maximum of the address frequency spectral component of the electric signal at the photodetector.
