Abstract:
The Ka-band satellite communications market is currently fragmented with each satellite network operator using different frequency bands, polarizations and waveforms. With recent advancements in antenna and RF electronics technology, it is possible to deploy interoperable antennas that are compatible with all Ka-band satellite networks and waveforms. This paper proposes a minimum set of requirements for an inter-operable Ka-band satellite antenna and associated RF electronics.
