Abstract:
Two-via slot type dual band antenna for wearable application is designed with back lobe reduction structure. This propounded antenna is a modified structure which amalgamates a patch antenna and I shape slot to give two independent frequencies between 2.1 GHz to 3.5 GHz and also a Coplanar Waveguide (CW) strip which is connected to the ground through via. The Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) conducts as Perfect-Magnetic-Conductor (PMC) and effectively reduces the back radiation. Structure of antenna is simulated in HFSS software and utterly fabricated using textile material except via and feeding connector (50 Ω coaxial cable). Simulated and experimental results are well executed with good return loss (below -10 dB) and front to back ratio. Furthermore, evaluation of specific-absorption-rate (SAR) validates antenna performance.
