I. Introduction
Some experts define a transport hub as a station on a “hub and spoke” network, whose main characteristic is the linking between different stations (spoke) that is not direct but through only one station (hub), which is the center of the network itself, and where all the lines of means of transportation are converging to [1]–[3]. A transport hub is a place where passengers and cargos are exchanged using vehicles or other transport modes, which firstly was born in passenger air transportation, when people needed to fly with more than one flight with different companies. The evolution from an airport terminal to a multimodal hub is represented by the Shanghai Hongqiao integrated transport hub, as described in [3]–[5].
