UWB Antenna Printing on Glass Substrate Through Cost-Effective Copper Foils

A UWB antenna printing on glass substrate using copper foil is reported which is extremely cost-effective fabrication process as compared to that of inkjet or screen printing. In particular, a 50 Ω CPW fed circular UWB antenna on a glass substrate with ε

is first designed in a simulator and then realized for the validation of the proposed cost-effective fabrication procedure. The fabrication procedure involves the lamination of adhesive copper foils on a glass substrate followed by the chemical etching for drawing conductive patterns instead of using expensive copper or silver nano-particle inks that employ costly screen or inkjet printing. The comparison of the simulated and measured results showed that proposed process can be used to produce other types of antennas on various kind of substrates such as glass, paper, plastic, etc.
