Abstract:
This paper performed the ferroresonance experiment with configuration of capacitance series and shunt to 1 kV transformer core type H and 1 kV transformer core type M. The experiment was using ferroresonance test module, source voltage (autotransformer 0-220 V, 7 A), and PC (Labview and Diadem). The voltage and current measurements were conducted on the transformer primary windings, source voltage, and capacitor (Cseries). The experiment was conducted to acknowledge the variation of capacitance series and capacitance shunt in order to obtain ferroresonance response. Ferroresonance response was focused by physical characteristics of ferroresonance such as distortion of waveform transformator voltage and jump phenomenon occurrence. The results showed that Cseries have significant impact over Cshunt. The ferroresonance waveform is obtained only with the Cseries capacitance value greater than the Cshunt capacitance value. Fundamental mode was dominating the most of ferroresonance response, with the voltage THD 25,66 % in configuration Cshunt 30 uF-Cseries 70 uF. Subharmonic mode was also appeared in this configuration with highest voltage THD 34.99 %.
