Abstract:

Data centers are playing a key role by helping enterprises to expand their capabilities in the field of information technology. As compared to manual documentations just few decades before, data centers have proved to be a boom by improving the usability of data as a holistic approach. They have enabled the enterprises to achieve much more in a minimal cost in terms of speed, time, security and physical space required for data management. Role of data centers is still critical with change in technology and rise in data demand with time resulting a dramatic shift in the way data centers are designed, configured and operated.Internet of Things (IoT) with reference to data center can be defined as something that connects "remote assets" and pushes data between them and centralized management systems. Companies can integrate that data and those assets in their processes to improve utilization and productivity. With the availability of real time information on status, location, functionality and behavior by integrating IoT with the assets and related organizational processes it becomes easy to improve the efficiency and productivity through optimum usage and more accurate decision support.Wide area network links in most of the data centers today are designed to cater moderate bandwidth requirements of human interactions with applications. However, with the evolution of IoT, big data requirements are resulting as the key demand factor for capacity management at data centers to proactively meet the business requirement associated with IoT. Tremendous increment in data and the amount of network connections that carry this traffic along with huge storage and compute requirements resulted in need of distributed data center management and optimum system management platforms.Operations and maintenance of these distributed data centers infrastructure as a homogeneous system to monitor and control segregated locations is a challenge in itself. In this study the author have tried t...
