Abstract:

Landscape pattern would be dynamically changed because of the mutual effects between highway corridors and other multiple landscape factors. Taking highway corridor as a landscape factor, highway landscape regionalization has been barely studied in a large area. In this research landscape components analysis and landscape pattern analysis were combined to model and build the highway landscape regionalization. This methodology has been applied to Shandong province in China. In terms of the effects of highway corridors, landscape diversity, fragmentation, and fractal dimension were selected to examine the landscape structure. After the three landscape indicators were weighted and normalized, the highway landscape regionalization was identified, including three zones. The result shows the present situation of landscape pattern affected by highway corridors, which also can guide the future highway corridor augment plan to reduce the effects on landscape environment as low as possible.
