Abstract:

In this paper, a high sensitivity sensor platform is proposed. The multi resonant metamaterials with fractal- structure or super-cell resonators is used to match multiple resonance frequencies with characteristic frequencies of the analyte. This provides more dielectric information of the analyte. In the design, by introducing asymmetry in the ring resonator and using Fano-resonance the sensitivity has been improved. A thin layer of dielectric is added on top of the metallic ring which forms a groove. The introduced grooves increase the sensitivity of the final design, up to three times compare to the current state of the art metamaterial sensor platform.
