Abstract:

In this work, we demonstrate the advantage of bifacial silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar module in energy harvest capabilities through an on-going terrestrial study. Two PV stations built with our bifacial 60-cell standard SHJ modules yield 15% and 18.9% more in Chengdu compared to an n-type monocrystalline silicon reference PV station, mainly due to enhanced insolation through the rear side. In addition, performances of SHJ modules under various circumstances are also investigated. It is shown that bifacial SHJ modules can be widely incorporated with non-conventional applications without significant yield loss.
